Born in 1972, Oeno, whose real name is Brian Lucas, is a legend of the French graffiti scene. His signature is a reference to Phaedra’s nurse, “Oenone,” in the tragedy of the same name.

Active since the 1980s, his journey began in the capital where he started covering walls and subways with his graffiti, distinguishing himself through bold creations and socially engaged themes alongside his first crews*, such as Vandales en Puissance (VEP). A vocation was clearly born.

In 1991, he made the headlines of the evening news after having the audacity to completely cover the Louvre-Rivoli metro station with spray paint. An act of war against the RATP that marked the beginning of his notoriety but also cost him several legal complications.

Brian Lucas also fully embraced this urban culture through skateboarding, BMX, and especially music. He became the producer/manager of the group La Cliqua, whose album Conçu pour durer (1995) marked the entry of French rap into a new era. Founder of the Arsenal Records label and the distributor Chronowax, which notably produced DJ Mehdi through his Espionnage label, Oeno is also known as DJ JR Ewing and has continued to regularly release mixtape series since 1997.
