A propos de PHILIPPE MORILLON

Galerie de la Clé presents a series of photographs by Philippe Morillon, a young artist of the ’70s and ’80s, who enjoyed photographing his friends during his Parisian outings of the era.
A wonderful biographer of these other “Roaring Years,” Philippe Morillon pays tribute to this carefree youth who lived only for the present moment.

“Le Palace”, a former theater on Rue Montmartre, was purchased by Fabrice Eamer in 1978. Fabrice Eamer then decided to undertake a complete renovation of the theater and entrusted its decoration to the painter Gérard Garouste. Philippe Morillon created the logo and the poster, as he is also a graphic designer and illustrator.

Very quickly, “Le Palace” achieved great success and became the essential venue of Parisian nightlife. Philippe Morillon was a regular at “Le Palace” and, with his group of friends, participated in all the parties held at this exceptional venue.
Everyone gathered at “Le Palace”: young and old, celebrities and non-celebrities, rich and poor, bourgeois and punks, actors, singers, intellectuals, politicians. The watchword was the desire to party, and the entry ticket was to display a dress code that matched the attitude of the place.
