Konny Steding, Princess of Art Brut firmly rooted in the Neo-Expressionist movement, returns to Galerie de la Clé with a new exhibition entitled ‘OPUS’. Always faithful to her free and rebellious D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) roots, Konny presents a series of works for this new display that transcend the imagination and exude the transgression of the intimate. These faces, figures, and omnipresent eyes tirelessly scrutinize the city and its passers-by or, alternatively, allow themselves to be observed. It is around a street corner that one can discover and appreciate Konny Steding’s works throughout the Parisian neighborhoods. Whether in the hustle and bustle of the day or the murmur of the night, Konny likes to illuminate the city with her works featuring unusual faces, giving passers-by the freedom to admire them or to be admired themselves.
This new exhibition brings together a series of canvases that further strengthen the legend of Konny Steding. This singular artist has been roaming Paris for twenty-five years now, a canvas on her shoulders, posters and paint in hand, with the desire to shake up the night, life, and Paris.
It is therefore with great pleasure that Galerie de la Clé hosts Konny Steding’s new Opus from April 29 to May 30. An Opus free from judgment and constraints. An Opus that breathes freedom and invites one to reinvent themselves through the night, the street, its faces, and its gazes.
