A propos de THEOPHILE ARCELIN

ÆTERNA

Exhibition from February 6 to March 1, 2025

Théophile Arcelin returns to Galerie de la Clé with a new exhibition entitled ÆTERNA, one year after the eponymous METAMORPHOSIS. In this new incarnation, the painter explores the incandescent eternity of animist spirituality.

Extending the previous exhibition, this show seeks to confront the viewer’s gaze with the woodland lightness of poppy fields and shaded clearings inhabited by ghostly spirits, doing justice to a sublimated nature. As mysterious as they are revealing, his canvases act like eternal, imperishable incantations upon the consciousness of those who admire them. This exhibition immerses the visitor in incandescent eternity, while going further: it calls upon mystical forces and animist rituals.

Through shaded clearings and imaginary poppy fields, Théophile Arcelin’s canvases transgress the boundaries between the visible and the invisible. They are not merely contemplative: they embody invocations, primal cries, confronting the viewer with a sacred, visceral, and mysterious experience.
